About Mahberet
Established in the 1990s, Mahberet is a literary magazine that publishes the work of students, faculty, and alumni of Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. We welcome submissions from writers and artists of all faiths and backgrounds.
We seek to promote the ideals fundamental to Jewish culture: the sharing of ideas, the raising of questions, and the telling of stories.

Editor in Chief
Sarah Lewis
Sarah Lewis is a first year at Brown. She plans on filling her life with music and writing, though she's not yet sure how. Her love of creative writing is outpaced only by her love of babka, Sondheim, and cheesy science fiction novels.

Artist in Chief
Ernestine Klecz
Ernestine is currently a freshman at RISD. She plans on majoring in Illustration and creating artwork for magazines, children’s books, and editorials. She is originally from northern New Jersey, but now lives in Southern Florida with her family.
